I dont know about the front but I have 275/40/17 nitto drag radials on the back and have yet to have any problems, if I was you I wouldnt put 275's up front I have 255's up there and everytime I run over a crack or something it wants to follow it.

So you think 255s in front would be better? Do your Nittos get chewed up bad? I heard their tread life is next to none.

Just got Nitto 255/45 in the rear today! Once I burn up what's left of the stock 245s in the front (1000 miles or so) I'll be moving these Nittos up front to make room for the 275s or 285s in the rear.
Nitto has a great website with fitting recomendations. They recommend at least a 9" wheel for 275s.
By the way...anyone know where to get 17x9" or 17x10" Bullitt replica wheels?

For handling purposes, the stock-sized tires will actually have better at-the-limit qualities than a 275 on the same rim. A 245 is the ideal tread width for an 8" rim, and a 255 is the ideal tread width for a 9" rim. For straight line traction ("forward bite"), you can squeeze a 275 on an 8" rim, but you'll have quite a bit of sidewall overhang. Driving around town, the rear will be pretty squooshy. (Is that a word? ) So, it all depends on what you're after. On the '94+ Mustangs, I normally recommend 17"x9" rims with 275s all around, even though the rim is technically not the ideal width. The extra weight of the SN95s really benefits from the wider tires, and you can keep the tire pressure up a bit to compensate for sidewall flex. The only area that will rub with this combo is in the driver's side fenderwell, where there's a convex portion to clear the windshield washer bottle. We simply heat it up, push it to be flush with the rest of the fenderwell, and let it cool.

my sisters car has 275 all around on her 98 and she has no rubing problems...and she is lowered about 1 3/4 up front and 1 1/2 in the back....
