Shade-Tree - I read on your webpage that you have the Professional Products Intake Manifold. How is that workin out for you? I'm thinking about getting it. Is it good quality? How much HP did you gain? And if anyone else has any input on this manifold I would appriciate it. BTW, this is the manifold I'm talkin about:

so far so good. I don't expect it's any different than the edelbrock performer RPM, of which it is a total knock-off.
I am troubleshooting an H20 leak which I believe was just my being stupid and re-using a headgasket. Otherwise, it's a "made in china" piece that is not as high quality as the edelbrock piece I'm sure. I don't see any defects in workmanship, and it's nice looking, but I'm not totally happy with my decision to go with a 'made in china' part vs. forking another $100 over to a 'made in usa' part.
2nd thoughts I suppose. $100 is a nice discount though. Only real workmanship complaint I have is the plenum side cover (it can be opened there for porting just like the RPM), the gasket that seals it to the rest of the upper intake isn't perfectly aligned. No vacuum leak, but it's not perfect. maybe I'm picky. I should be g-teching the combo soon. As far as performance gains... that is going to be tough to isolate. I've swapped MAF, injectors, cam, heads, rockers in addition to the intake, so who knows. ![[worship]](graemlins/worship.gif)

Hey thanks for the info. If it is infact a RPM knockoff, do you think it would be possible to use an actual edelbrock plenum cover and gasket on it? Who knows maybe it will fit better. Anyways yeah, I'm too concerned with name brands, I'm intrested in performace gains and if it is just as good as the edelbrock one for $100 bucks cheaper, then I'm gonna go for it.

actually, I think it's $150 cheaper. Anderson Ford sold it to me for $349.95, isn't the edelbrock rpm like $489 from summitt?
from what the instructions say, an edelbrock upper mounts to the performance products lower just fine. the little plenum opening probably swaps as well, but I don't think you can get one seperately from the upper.

Are you running roller rockers under those valve covers? According to Ford Racing those EFI valve covers that you have in the picture do not work with roller rockers. If you do have roller rockers how did you make them work? It would sure be cool to put those valve covers on because then I would pass my smog visual test (I need to have that rubber hose from the throttle body to the oil fill cap.)

1.6 stud rockers. I removed the OEM baffle to clear. Otherwise, I believe you're right. There would have been interference.
btw, my car is a '93 patrol car from longbeach
