I'm just wondering if anybody knows if the holley systemax kit is smog legal or not, thanks. Justin

Good question. I know the heads have the smog ports. I don't think the cam has a CARB number, but from what I remember, its not too wild. As for the intake... I seem to remember the Holly intake not having the EGR port because the runners are so wide.
With that said, you can piece together your heads/intake/cam combo for the same amount of $$$$ that will make more power if you do your homework.

I'm pretty sure I've seen it advertised as carb legal and the cam shouldnt matter as long as it passes the sniffer test because they dont check lift dur. ect. if you get it let me know how you like it

I was thinking about getting the holley systemax2 kit. But I'm definately going to do some more research and see if I can piece together something that will flow better for the same price...thanks for the replies. Justin

Resting above my throne was the latest Summit catalog. It lists the intake as CARB legal... I didn't see the smog port in the picture... but now seem to remember something about it being external? Anyways, you're better off picking your own combo. AaronC has a good idea on a solid heads/intake/cam combo that is gaurunteed to make much more power than you the holley kit.

yeah, I went to holley's homepage and it says that it's all carb approved. But like you said I'm probably just going to make my own kit. thanks again
