I know this is a common problem for the t-45 transmission but it seems that every time I shift hard from 1-2 it grinds(granny shifting too). Even if I am going 15mph and have held the clutch in for 5 seconds, if I shift with some force, it will grind from 1st to 2nd.The car will even grind if I put it back into first when stopping at a light or stop sign. I have heard that an aftermarket shifter helps, but I have one and yet it still grinds. I there anything I can do?

I feel yea man... I have the same problem and its really annoying, I was thinking of taking it back to Ford but i've been to lazy to strip it back to stock cause they might trip on my mods and blame it on them....

i actually had the same problem, but when i installed the triax, it kinda eliminated the grinding. i've tried to slam it on 2nd gear and it grinded pretty bad. but i dont have any problems when i granny shift. im not sure if its just the clutch, cause it was worse when i had the stock shifter. the triax did help...when i replace my clutch, i'm going with either mcleod's (sp?) or king cobra.
