We have the condensor, pump and all the wiring loose. Back where the system connects to the firewall, there are to more lines. Should we just cut them off?

I usually just cut them flush and stick some rubber plugs over them.
Looks ok but that is what I USED to do I believe in AC retention now.

I didn't cut anything when I pulled the AC (plan to reinstall later). I used what I had handy... mini water-baloons
put about 2 on each.
