A '5.0' is really a 4944cc engine. The reason for this I'm a little foggy. Something to do with Ford's inline 6 actually being a 5.0 displacement, yet Ford wanted the '5.0' name for the mustang. I'm not sure if this helps. If it's in a stang, you might count the plugs or the plug wires coming from the distributor. The other engine option in an SN-95 is the 6 banger. If it's got 8 cylinders, and somebody still screwed you, somebody went through an awful lot of trouble to swap motors, especially given that a complete throttle body to oil pan 5.0 motor is like $500-$750 rebuilt.
