hmm lets see what year car ? im guessing fox body ? auto or stick ? guessing stick carb or EFI ? cheeper w/a carb/guessing EFI and why no weight reduction ? here's a start lots of cam, compression, RPM, MAJOR heads nad MAJOR traction... THEBRAIN's buddy w/a NA 347 is putting down 350+RWHP w/ nothing fancy and running 12.4s on DR's. now put that motor in a LX w/ some slicks and thers your 11's NA.. what do you think ?!?!

hang with your car? why dont ya put a 125 shot on the stang and see what it runs then, you know make it fair hehe. BTW some years have forged piston 87-90? i think in the 5.0s not sure on the years but they do, you could run a 200 shot or something hahahaha

I'm not saying it can't be done. Lots of people have done it. I'd just like to point out that it takes a VERY WELL THOUGHT OUT combo to do it. Unless you're *extremely* serious about doing this and have the $$$ and time to do it right, you should look for a smaller project.

'Kyle' on the corral and one other guy run 11.7-11.9 with full weight (this is the Internet guys, so I call BS on that from the outset), AFR heads, Edelbrock RPM intakes, and a custom cam from the mythical man Ed Curtis. Kyle even shaved his heads to bump the compression even more than those puny 54cc chambers have stock. They are trapping around 113-116 NA with full weight fox bodies (3400 ish race weight supposedly...) Not bad. One dude runs the ET streets even. Other dude ET drags. No weight reduction is a serious penalty. For instance, pulling the front swaybar is almost a requirement for the kind of launch (1.60 or so 60') that you're going to need. [ January 06, 2002: Message edited by: shade-tree ghetto racer ]

my opinion on the easiest way to do it:'64- '68 mustang (lighter than the '87+ foxes) 289 or 302 (289's can do it too!) carbed serious heads serious solid roller cam/valvetrain high rpm intake demon 650 or similar carb 7000+ rpms or so should do it! That would be fun. It would idle like a mean S.O.B. as an added bonus!

Just a little compression a well matched heads cam and intake combo and decent sized header the right gear not to mention a good tune
