im thinking of getting a d&d k-memeber kit with adjustable struts
I was thinking of buying 150# springs I now it will be good for the track but how good will it be for street driveing
Im not goin to drive the car much on the street maybe once a in a great while should i go 150 with 90/10 or maybe 250 with adjustble struts

i have a set of 175, and it is way to soft for a 4 cylinider engine..... i cant imagine a v8.. the 175 bottom out the strut every bump
the 250's i put in are just barely ok, it bottoms out over some bumps. it also feels like it has alot of weight transfer i would suggest nothing less than 250's

Yeah, I think the 150# spring might be a little weak...A typical coil-over spring rate for street performance handling would be 350#...I'd suggest a 250# for drag...

also think about it, 175# spring is a very good drag spring for a 302 based fox drag car, no ps, ac, barely any weight on front then ur car, power steering, dont know if u have ac, plus the weight of the supercharger, and sn95's are just heavier i think a 250# would be a good drag spring for u since ur car has more weight to deal with on the front
im gonna be using 175's but my car will weigh 2800 pounds

I've got the 175 lb springs on mine. My car is definitely nose heavy due to the heavy R block, blower, intercooler, intercooler tubing, stock hood, etc. My spring adjustment collar is about midway on the threaded sleeve and the ride height is about stock. I could easily go to a lower rate spring and adjust the collar higher on the strut to get more stored energy in the spring. In my case, the 150 lb spring would work fine and I am also considering a 130 lb spring. These springs are all 14" long so the length has a lot to do with how the suspension will work. Some are 12" with the same lb rating so you need to know what the at rest length is. Fortunatrly they are cheap enough to try different ratings to see what works best.

this woould be like getting a eibach drag spring kit, but only better, right
well I was goin coil over couse I plan to go turbo in about 6-8 months and i need to put a k-member kit to get the turbo to fit corretly

this woould be like getting a eibach drag spring kit, but only better, right
well I was goin coil over couse I plan to go turbo in about 6-8 months and i need to put a k-member kit to get the turbo to fit corretly
u can get a k member that still has mounts for the stock springs, but i dont know that with the spring cups that the turbo piping will fit what kit and turbo size are u goin with

I really don't think that most if not all Renegade, Outlaw, and any other lower classification car that allows front coilovers are installing them because they transfer weight worse than recalibrated stock style springs. Now if we were talking about a car on street tires or without much power then it probably wouldn't matter what type springs were up front.

t-76 thats alot for a 4.6, is urs still a 4.6 or has it been made larger
shit a q trim t-76 will make more power than ur chassis can take, unless u throw a cage in there to keep the car from twisting into a pretzel, what are ur goals rwhp wise, because that t76 will make 700rwhp all day long and not complain, over 800+ maxed

My advice for you would be to go to Fun Ford Weekend and check to see how many 700+ HP cars have coilovers and how many have stock style springs. 50 to 0 I'd bet.

It's not neccessarily that coilovers transfer weight worse than a stock type spring. It's the fact that the rate of the coilover spring you need in order to equal the weight transfer of a stock style drag spring causes problems on the street. Renegade/Outlaw cars are not driven on the street and do not have to worry about coilbind or the suspension bottoming out over bumps. Those are the problems a lot of street cars have when they try to install a 150 or 130 pound coilover spring up front. [ October 30, 2003, 11:11 AM: Message edited by: Jeff S ]

I have my stock 2valve bottom which has cobra crank with manly I rods and brc forged pistons
Man I had this bottom end for so long, its the valve train that has given me problems but I think I may have figured it out
so will see it it puts down on my novi2000 1st then ill switch over to turbo

oh yeah i forgot that u had a 2v im guessing max ported heads and some big billet cams are u having valve spring problems, like matt was with his cobra, i wan to see that thing with a turbo, let me get a ride in it, ill take u for a ride once mine runs , i think we are both a ways away from havin our cars where we want them to be

im getting their check it out I just bought pre orderd this new intake this should hold more boost then the plastic intake I have
