I have a 96GT with a 01 Cobra crate motor. Just had procharger installed and now car will fire up and then die. Will not idle. I have checked the IAC and all the piping on Supercharger is tight. Started the other night when it was raining lost traction and reved a bit and then started to die as soon as I left off the gas. I has been babying it due to the fact that I have not installed my bigger fuel injectors yet. Let me know if anyone is interested and how much they would charge. Would have to come to my house though as the car will not come to you. Help before the wife kills me!

Check for a vacuum leak it could have blown a plug off when it overreved and possibly back fired.
I once missed a gear in a fox with blower it reved high and blew the pipe plug on the intakes right off. Talk about a sever vacuum leak.

What do you mean by plug off(spark plug?)? Is there any other way to check for a vacumn leak if you cant get the car started? I really did not over rev very high just about 4500rpm. I was just trying to baby it with only 24lb injectors right now.

I had the same issue and it was my intake gasket (upper to lower) on my fox.
I would start w/ a visual inspection of all the vaccum lines, intake piping, etc. and hope you can see it easily

We had this problem when we isntaleld our Procharger, is your MAF in the fender? Is it a blow through? if so you might want to turn it just a bit cause sometimes the air going through it if its at a funny angle will trick the MAF and not let it idle correctly and will die and flood the engine with gas. Also get the car tuned and PUT BIGGER INJECTORS in immediately you don't wanna to have detonation with a blown motor, otherwise start saving for a new motor or someone to change the headgaskets.

Yes the maf is in the fender. I will try moving it around a bit. It is calibrated for 42lb injectors and a sc application. I have the 42's just are not in yet. The MAN (JOHNB from this site) is coming over in the morning so he should have it fixed in about 2.3 minutes. I will post what the problem was.

Duh dude, of course it aint going to idle right if the mass air meter and injectors dont match. Thats your problem right there

Well it still aint going to work if you fix whatever other problem you had first if you dont match the injectors and MAF

Its probably the MAF position, all the pipe bends for the intercooler is making turbulance in there and its disrupting the readings of the MAF so it doesn't know where to idle right. You need to move the MAF so it can get a smooth reading.
Does a lot of black smoke come out of the exhaust? Is it running really rich?

I thought I was the only one asking him 1000 questions. He needs his own section here. Named "ask JOHNB", kinda like Ann landers and Dear Abbey. He is cool about it even though I feel bad about always asking.
