alright, I have a bone stock 2000 Saleen S281, except for the 3.55's, and I have around 300 dollars to spend on my car. In your opinion what would be the best thing to buy?

Yeah an off-road h/x pipe alone would do a nice number on that exhaust note!

no way. off road h pipes go from 110-400. install sometimes can be 150+. mufflers are 70+ each. headers are 200+ and good tips are sometimes 100+ [ May 27, 2002, 11:12 PM: Message edited by: 1SicgrnGT ]

saleen's already have goof mufflers I think, just getting the X-Pipe might be good for now. I was thinking maybe something on the intake side?

Yeah just get the H pipe. Why throw out perfectly nice stock Saleen mufflers. I'm sure the h pipe should be nice, and fit under your budget. I bought my h pipe used for $75 and installed it myself. Basani is nice, but I figure it hardly does anything more than the Mac one that I bought but costs nearly twice as much new.

I would save more money and buy long tube headers. keep your borla cat back. You can here my car on the 8th. A friend of mine gained over 20 rwhp with long tunes. [ May 28, 2002, 08:41 PM: Message edited by: TRY2PAZ ]

I agree with Brian (Try2paz) Long tubes baby..but they cost a lot to install, around $700 bucks. Thats just the instalation. I bought the bassani X pipe and am pretty happy with it but realy want the long tubes. The 2000 stock Borla mufflers I would just keep ther very expecsive and are already straght through muffler. The 2000 come with a restricted stock H pipe with 4 cats. saleen00925 You were talking about getting intake first but what goes in must come out. If you do intake and you still have the restricted stock H with the 4 cats the air that goes in will still have a difficult time getting out and the intake will do little or nothing. First thing is to get rid of the stock exhaust, keep the mufflers and your set. If you get someone to weld on a custom X pipe it should be pretty cheap and you may still be able to put in a K&N air filter.
