well i plan on building up a little high 12second motor, because i got some horrable compression #s on the engine in my car right now.
so anyways what do you guys think of this kit. I've dealt with these guys before with many things and have gotten nothing but quality parts. So i was just wondering if maby one of you got this or have an opinion on it.

If all you want is a high 12 second car.... the stock bottem end will do just fine. Just toss on your favorite set of aluminum heads and matching intake, along with 1.7 rockers for the stock cam.

The DSS 306 kit is nice: http://www.dssracing.com/3061.htm or pick up that 327 rotating assembly in the for sale section. Pretty good price if you ask me.

*edit* wow that dss kit does look good. Do you know if i would have to do any extra machining to get that kit to work with a stock block? [ August 11, 2003, 05:00 PM: Message edited by: mike g ]

i was hopin to spend under 1000 for the rotating assembly so that dss kit looks good to me. I'll still keep my eyes out for other stuff though.

you could do what I did, go look for a good used crank and a set of used rods, and buy the summit 306 rebuild kit. I bought a used shortblock, brought it to Zinolas Machine shop had him do everythin for me, and just ordered a rebuild kit. Ended up spending just under $1000. I have a shortblock for sale if interested. $100.
