welll this question is for my older brother... but what is TPI 350 5.0. and has about "5k in it"? i know its from a iroc. but is this good for my older brother. its in a 1986 iroc.. and another question...this person that is selling it said,
"The vacuum lines and pcv valve system needs to be hooked back up!(I don't know how and can't pay mechanics to do it! everythings there) You'll have to hook these systems back up for it to pass smog!I can't afford to pay nor do I have the time to finish this car! 90% complete!"
can u still drive it with on them on? and is this true..
thanks

I personally would not buy a car without a smog cert. Legally the seller has to provide a smog cert to trasfer title over unless you make the purchase and than do the smog. Either case a recent smog cert. must be had before title can be transfered. It may be as simple as hooking up a few vacuum lines and the pcv system. However why are they not hooked up now? There must be a reason why they are disconnected. With so many cars around that can pass I would pass on this car unless the seller fixes the issues with it first.

This is saying that it is tuned port injection, 350 cubic inches and its a 5.0? This doesn't make any sense. Most likely it is a 302 5.0L and not a 350 cubic inch motor as many early IROC's were 302's. 5k in it means the seller has invested $5000 into the motor or since a rebuild of the motor the car has been driven 5000 miles

I still wouldn't buy it without a smog cert. You may be looking at bigger issues than just hooking up some lines
