no, you need to get the puller that they sell in the auto dept. of sears, $20, don't get the jawed type, it's the other type, comes with a bunch of bolts, kind of a PITA, takes like 30-60 mins to get it off including belt and crank pulley removal.

Harbor Freight sells a 'Bolt removal tool' for ~$8 that works great. Same thing as a dampner puller only cheaper.

I went to autozone and put like $20 deposit and got it all back when I returned the puller. Cost me nothing

.... What size engine do you have?....Considering your name is 85svomike, I'll assume you have a 2.3L turbo.....When you un-bolt the crank pulley bolt on a 2.3L, the balancer will come off with the pulley with a slight tap of the hammer...I have a 2.3L turbo on my Merkur, the balancer came right off!!!(NO pulley puller needed!!!!)...

After you remove the retainer bolt don't forget to remove the big ass washer. I know it sounds stupid, but sometimes it doesn't just fall out, I didn't even know it was there the first time I did this.
