well let me see if you drop the k member you can put it all togethere along with the tranny and headders, so you will put it in from the bottom, kind of like a cobra motor
but if you go from the top like I did you have to put on the headder on (driverside) then slide the motor in put on the tranny( tranny needs to be unbolted from drive shaft and tranny mount ), bolt on the starter, then lift the motor up about a foot or 2 then bolt on the passanger header and slide the motor back in not as bad as it sounds

dont now about hooker headders I have bbk but the only way you can put the motor, tranny and headers on at the same time is if you go though the bottom it wont work thought the top I tried that and it would not work with bbk's

I installed Hooker long tube headers on my 01. I would not use the shitty Hooker bolts and gaskets that came with the headers. Another overcite on Hooker's part is the shitty slip fit design between the header and x- pipe. As soon as I have time, I'm going to weld on some 3 bolt flanges and get rid of slip fit shit. as long as you work on a lift, You can install the headers without removing the transmission or K member, but it will still take a shit load of time. The driver side header is a two piece design to clear the steering shaft. the passenger side header is a one piece.
