Have some Weld 17x4.5's for the front of my 06, problem is finding tires. M/T doesn't offer ANYTHING for them and the skinniest tire I can find in 17" from local tire shop is something stupid like a 205. Suggestions?

Hoosier has 26x17x7.5 pro street radials that will fit.

Aren't those WAY too wide for a 4.5" rim?

I went to Hoosier's homepage and it didn't look like they had any 17" tires that would come close to fitting in the front/4.5" wide rim?

I saw in a magazine years ago that had a pair of pony wheels narrowed way down and was running 16" motorcycle tires. I looked on Ebay and found hundreds of 17" tires, one being a 180/55 ZR17. I dont know if these will work but I figured I would post it up.

I had seen all the choices of bike tires on Ebay but I think they are meant to be round, instead of a flat contact patch?

I think with the weight of a car it would give you a larger contact patch. I think if you were using them at the track only they would be fine. If I remember right didnt you say that your wheels are for track use only too? I remember the article saying that he had the wheels cut down from 16X7 to like a 16X4 and he had rear motercycle tires on em. I would find out what the load range is to see if they would work. Have you contacted the wheel company to see if they have any suggestions? I would think if they made a wheel in that size there would be tires available to fit.

I wouldn't run motorcycle tires designed for a 350+ lb bike on a 3000 lb CAR.
The 10x in weight difference sounds ridiculous in addition to going 120+ mph on saving 10 pounds.
You will find a pair believe me.
