So my buddy bought an 95 cobra with an strim as is. Prob a lot of things wrong with it but he didn't pay much for it. Drove it back and we noticed there was a splash of oil on the driver side valve cover. Like it slightly sprayed with oil.
Could this be a blown head gasket? There is no smoke or anything out the tail pipes. I figure we do a leak down and or a compression test? [ May 20, 2009, 04:32 PM: Message edited by: essasin ]

Doubt it. I bet it's pressurizing the crankcase (blowby) and it came out the oil dipstick.

Is this anything to worry about? How can we go about fixing this issue? That was a really quick response thanks!

Do a leak down test, it will pinpoint the problem. Pretty sure you've got a shortblock with blowby, as the combo of low-tension rings and a supercharger typically don't mix...
Quick fix? Sure, new shortblock. There really isn't one. Make sure you keep a few extra qt's of oil in the car, as well as a piece of cardboard on the garage floor. If it hasn't started leaking out the rear main yet, it will soon.

We guessed that we would end up doing a rebuild since the motor had quite a bit of miles on it but didn't know it was because of blowby. We're going to take the motor out this weekend. Thanks for the advice once again.
