Okay, so as you all know I have been having problems with this 95 Mustang GT AODE for awhile. Well here's the deal...
A 95 Mustang GT has a 15.6 gallon tank. I was getting 31 - 33 miles for every 1/4 tank of gas (1/4 tank = roughly 3.9 gallons), which equates to 7.9 - 8.4mpg! This all came AFTER I did a tune up on it (plugs, MSD wires, MSD coil,MSD cap n' rotor, oil & oil filter, K&N air filter, fuel filter, Techron fuel system cleaner, Gunk engine cleaner, thermostat.)
Seemingly having a lack of power and crappy mileage, I was told to clean the MAF. Which I did and no change!
That brings us up to date. So, yesterday morning I topped off the tank and thus far I have driven 34.7 miles and the gas needle is barely moved under the full tank mark! WTF!? Did my car fix itself? Is it the cold weather? What's going on!?
Note: I am in no way complaining. If the car keeps this up I will buy her a new paint job and rims sooner rather than later for being such a good girl.

Maybe she was trying to punish you for holding out on the paint and rims

you need to calculate mileage when you top off the gas tank

That's what I do as well. Everytime you fill up, reset the distance meter. Then the next time you fill up, divide the distance with how many gallons you fill up (top off all the time). I think that works, no?

fill up reset trip drive till about empty or at least half tank then fill up again and divide milage with the gallons of gas you used. that will be your miles per gallon. the whole 1/4 tank thing you did is funny

Well what I did is topped the tank off and reset the trip. A 95 Mustang has a 15.6 gallon tank. I drove it till it was down to 1/4 tank (3.9 gallons) and divided it that.
