My buddy is looking to make some serious/ reliable power on his stock bottom end (he has a 1990 5.0 coupe), it needs to be able to pass smog. He already purchased an edelbrock performer rpm intake manifold (upper and lower) and the edelbrock performer-plus cam and lifter kit. I don't know what is wrong with that site, the url doesn't take you to the same page??? Specs on the cam are at the bottom...Poduct: EDL-2122 He is looking for heads next. We were thinking of AFRs (not sure if 165s or 185s would go well with this combo?) What are the pros and cons of the 165s and 185s?
Also what else would he need to complete the transformation? Here is the list we have (need some help on the specs and sizes): rockers arms fuel pump afpr mass air injectors throttle body
Feel free to add to the list, and let us know what brands and sizes we should go with, thanks.
Specs on the cam he has:

I would say 165's, let me know if you want a price on them we are an AFR dealer. If you really want more power why not go FI

well, i just looked at your link to the performer plus cam and lifter kits. thats down grading because their all hydraulic flat tappet, you want hydraulic ROLLER. if he has a 90 5.0 coupe then he has a ROLLER cam.

well what do you consider serious power? cause you'll need some kind of forced induction on a stock shortblock
