87 LX, any tricks or tips I should know about removing the mufflers and tail pipes? they are all one piece on each side so I think it might be kinda tough without a lift.

You'll need to cut the tips off near the muffler and snake them out.

And for better clearance let the rear suspension drop down.

Preferably something that cuts through metal. I.E., a hacksaw.

I don't have one there is no way to snake them through with the mufflers on?

A sawzall or torch or grinding wheel is highly prefered. Life's too short.... take it to a dirty muffler shop and offer them $5 to cut it off for you.

well I just wanted it done tonight, I will have a torch in my hands tomarrow anyways if I can't get them off.

try unbolting the rear shocks that will give you a bit more clearance

Yep rear shocks and springs and it should snake right out for you. If not that pretend you are a 300lb sumo and tear them out by hand. If you don't get by morning give me a call @ (510) 719-0832 and I will be home all day working on projects and can give you a hand. I am in Dixon. I went to a friends house and it took use about 30 seconds with his Sawzall so I am all set We also pulled my motor apart and replaced head gaskets, always lots of fun

Did you get it all back together? And are you still covered on old, black oil?

Yes its all back together didn't plug in the vaccum on the Map when we first fired it up that was a REALLY rough idle. Car seems to be running good but the radiator is sooooooo clogged i need to replace it ASAP.

Kc where are you located i have a brass 3 core that you could borrow till you get a new radiator.

Thanks so much for the offer but I am going to take the one out of my vert for the next few days until I get my new one...that reminds me, new Topic in Tech on what radiator to buy!
