I HAVE A 1989 5.0 STICK THAT WILL START UP NO PROBLEM, THE PROBLEM I DO HAVE IS IF I TURN TO HARD OR IF MY KNEE HITS THE BOTTOM OF COLUMN OR EVEN IF I HIT THE STEERING WHEEL IT WILL SHUT OFF BUT SOMETIMES I CAN SAVE IT BY TURNING THE IGNITION SWITCH OVER A LITTLE
MY QUESTION IS IS MY IGNITION SWITCH CYLINDER THATS FAULTY OR IS IT SOMETHING ELSE
IM STARTING TO GET FRUSTRATED

sounds like your ignition switch the white one under the column is goin on and off caused by your steering column being loose. take off all the covers and the turn signal switch, behind there u will c 2 bolts one on top one at the bottom tighten those up and u should b straight

take the plastic covering off (should only take a phillips screwdriver). check if any wires are melted or backing out of their connectors (ignition switch)

ok well ill give a check tomorrow to see if they are loose but what are my other options if its not

if its not loose your ignition cylinder was not put in the right way

found the problem it was the white connector down below the switch it was broken before i boutght it i guess and they used a ziptie to keep it together but it was already loose so put 2 new ones on and walla problem fixed thanks for the help tho guys
