hey guys,
well i swap out my old 5.0 on my 94 GT for a 5.0 cobra longblock. I just add an F-cam, and my car has problems with the idle, if i dont give it gas it dies out. I set the timing to 12, but still will not idle... I heard for people that 94-95 have problem when you do a big cam? Does anyone have a ideas?

I'm running the stock one, it seems to me like my car is not getting enough air, the few times it did idle the rpm were around 6-6500...

try reseting the idle and adjusting it using the idle screw.

To rest it what would I have to do? And can I play with the factory tb, do you think the stock 24lbs injectors are too much for my set up?

Yes this is sometimes a problem when you install a cam in 5.0's There are two things I do to fix this problem. Yes that car is not getting engough air at idle and the idle air control valve can't compensate fast enough. Alot of people just crank up the idle screw to fix this problem but then that throws your tps voltage sky high and the car will have driveability problems. If you crank up the idle screw you will need to slot the holes in the tps sensor so it can be adjusted back in range. Or two you can drill a small hole in the throttle body blade to bypass more air. Hope that helps tps voltage and vacuum leaks are the number one cause for poor running efi mustangs.

Oh yeah make sure fuel pressure is set correctly 39psi at idle no vacuum to reg.

thanks, I did do that with the tb, its open a little more now and the car is able to idle, I still plan on having it dyno tuned to be on the safe side. I also removed most of the smog componets which came back to bite me in the ass, once we connected the EGR and opened the tb a little it was able to idle. Is there any after market Sensors i could by for the "idle air control valve " that will some how work?
THANKS TO ALL THAT HELPED! 1994steeda

Yeah stock fuel regs are non adjustable. Smog components should not really have anything to do with driveability, as long as there is no vacuum leaks. If you don't want to run the egr valve you can buy a egr simulator so that the check engine light will stay off.
