like a loud Knock? Well my cousin was tired of it,so we tore it apart not knowing what the cause was. I was telling him to wait, but hes just tired of it,so now hes gonna go to robs shop and get a nice short block, i got pics, maybe anybody can see anything wrong....... some pics of us taking it out tonight

From the looks of it, a rod bearing let go.

my cousin just called me and said could be because he diddnt break them in? cause he put new clvite 77 rod and mainbearings.what hes asking did he have to break them in properly?

Break in for what? The bottom end looks completely stock. If he's talking about the lifters, there is no break in. They are rollers. Only thing that could be screwed up is if a flat tappet cam was used with roller lifters. That could be where the metal in the spider girdle is from...

No,sorry,lol. i told him to fix that thing up before he started getting into these mustangs. original nice interior,everything original with a 440. it was his dads and now it belongs to him. hope one day he take all that stuff off of it so i cant take some nice shots of it. but the way thanks john for the help. the cam he got in there is a e303.
