I might be getting a DSS 306 shortblock, and was wondering would 185's be too big for the shortblock?

you're planning on going forced induction later right? if so then i would get the 185's.....that's what i have. the motor felt great before i put the blower belt on...even better after i put the belt on!!!

the only thing with going with the 185's is I gotta get another cam. we'll see.

I only recomend the 165's with stock pistons....or aftermarket pistons that aren't cut for 2.02 valves. Simply because of the more favorable intake to exhaust ratio on the 185's. [ May 08, 2003, 10:29 AM: Message edited by: 93PONY ]

I've seen some combos dyno with AFR 165's that later switched to notched pistons and 185's on a stock shortblock that made more power with the 165's.
but generally speaking, the 185's are a great bet.
