Hi all,
I discovered that my front brake line (the hard line, not the flexible hose) is damaged, and needs replacing on my 1998 Saleen S281. I gave Ford a call, and the best they could tell me was to take the old one off, and go get a new one fabricated!
Does anybody know where I can get pre-bent front brake lines for a '98? They are easy to find for my '68, but the '98 seems way harder - crazy!
Thanks, Chris

I believe its the same as a V6 mustang and there are plenty of V6 mustangs at auto dismantlers. Call Ford to verify they're the same part(number).

You could just cut the brake line where its damaged and flare the ends and use a tube union to mate the lines back together...
Brake line flare tool=$5-10.00 2x brake line ends=$1-2.00 1x brake line tube union=$1.50
Probably cheaper and easier than buying a brake line from Ford... [ May 07, 2003, 12:33 AM: Message edited by: Black94 5.0 ]

Well, after some help finding a Ford parts guy who actually _wanted_ to help (Thanks Swanson Ford!), it turns out Ford _does_ make the part! It is a little tricky to figure out the part number, and actually comes as a "tube set", so you get two brake lines for the price of one, but it was only $25, and _much_ preferable to either a repaired or second hand line.
So, the bottom line is, don't believe all that the parts department tells you, and when you do find a good parts guy - be nice to him!
Regards, Chris.
