I have a 96 Mustang Cobra convertible, the top is going to need to be replaced soon-ish. Any good places around (preferably in Marin, but willing to travel for the right price/ work)? The best quote I got so far was $1250 (labor + parts) in a Novato shop with a 6years limited warranty.

It seems like there are not a lot of folks doing convetable tops these days out here, and the few that do, think they can charge whatever they want because of it. I also was quoted $600 in labor alone for a bmw e36 top install job, also by a shop in marin, I think he was in SR or maybe novato too. He even said itd be ready same day.

Did you end up replacing your top? A shop I went to in San Rafael (around the canal area) was asking about $900 for labor alone ;/
