Have a carbed notch and plan on going super charger, just wondering if I need a fmu when using a carb

No, as long as the fuel supply is sufficient.
Keep in mind a FMU merely holds fuel rail pressure. You're not EFI, so holding rail/fuel line pressure is going to be pretty tough when all you have is a needle and seat metering fuel flow.
