I want to start putting the pieces in place so I can build a new engine for my 95 Cobra either 331 or 347.
*My question is what used blocks can I use? Just 94/95 or any 302?
*Also what are the Pro's/Con's & price between building a 331 & 347?
Thanks in advance!

You may want to just buy a stroker shortblock already assembled. unless you have a deal on machine work

BIGGER is better! Go for the 347, no reason not to.

Yeah I do have hook up on machine work, I'm also trying yo go as budget as possible and I will attempt to do most of the wrenching myself. 1st time (finger crossed) but I feel confident in doing so. I will prob have to start a thread when I get my parts all together so I can get some help & suggestions from everybody. I want it to be 100% smog legal!!!

a stroker kit will run you about $800..
however it could get pricey depending on parts

Any suggestions on kits? Links would be appreciated. Also looking for affordable Heads & cam to go with it. [ August 20, 2010, 06:41 PM: Message edited by: SnakeBit ]

It will be cheaper just to buy a shortblock already done from out of State, like from Keith Craft, also you will get better life out of a 331 vs a 347, due to rod ratio.
