i have a 92 lx 5.0 and i am trying to smog it to get my tags but on the stock h pipe i have a leak and dont know how to get rid of it . if any 1 knows how to get rid of it that would be rally helpful. thanks for ur time.

do you know where the exhaust leak is coming from?? head to header, header to h-pipe or h-pipe to muffs??

i would start by disconnecting the muffs from the h-pipe since its only 4 nuts total.
then loosen, but not disconnect the h-pipe to headers nuts (i think 15mm) the h-pipe will still be in the tranny mount, but shake the h-pipe so its not stuck on the headers.
then tighten the nuts on the header flanges EVENLY. if you tighten one nut only 3-5 turns with the ratchet, do the same with the other nut. repeat for the other side of the h-pipe.
*how bent are the flanges on the h-pipe??

there are no flanges on my car i need to get some but stores dont have any or arent my size.

if theres no flanges on your car, how do you connect the h-pipe to the headers??

also, autozone has some flanges you can pick up that are 2 1/4" if you have a stock h-pipe or they also have 2 1/2" if you have an aftermarket h/x-pipe

is there something that goes in between the headder and h pipe? because when i took off my pipe there was nopthing there.

well there should be studs on the headers. the h-pipe should have flanges. when u put the nuts on the header studs, they should pull the flanges that are connected to the h-pipe closer to the headers. you almost HAVE TO have flanges. if you can post a pic --rick

it is a ball and socket flange, there is no gasket used.

so it is basicly u have to tighten the h pipe all the way to the headders and thats that.
