is there any common problems with the stock fox alternators? heres my deal. my battery wasnt charging. changed the alternator. didnt work new battery. didnt work. tested alternator (the new one) still good. i already know about the 3G alternator and now im definitly goin to go with it. im gonna cut off that damn plastic plug and make new connectors. hopefully that works. in the mean time how do i get my frickin old alternator to work?

More than likely it's your harness for the alternator. Replacements are fairly cheap, I'd go that route before throwing another part at it.
