I found a 2" piece of vacuum hose lying on the ground under my car. It looks like it became unattached somewere and then burned on the headers or something else that's hot. I can't seem to find another hose like it that is dangling and not connected to anything though.
It's about 5/16 to 1/8 in diameter.
Thanks,
Tony

Forgot to mention it was under the front passenger side of the engine compartment.

can you see if all of your smog house piping is intact from your pump towards the back of the engine? Or even check your PCV hose on the back of your intake? Do you have bad idle going on like a Vacum leak? if you don't then its not a vacum hose. [ October 13, 2004, 06:40 PM: Message edited by: 98slowhoe 'FIFTYLX' ]

Hmmm...maybe it's not a vacuum hose then. All the smog pump hosing and intake hosing is in place. the hose is a lot smaller then those hoses. The only way I can explain the size is by comparing it to the outer diameter size of a pencil and the hole's diameter is probably 1-2mm across.
The car surges really bad during cold starts and then dies as stop signs. The idle is a little better now that I cleaned the IAC.
