I am picking up some fms gears and was wondering if was necissary to have at least a basic kit. I heard of things like a crush sleeve but I know new seals are always a good idea.

If you don't know about these things don't even try it have an experienced installer do it.
Do not go to differential doctors either.
All you'll do is screw up the parts.

Oh yeah,I was just gonna get someone to do it. I have inquired before on the board and got estimates for about $150.

If nothing is leaking, making noises, etc...then you should be ok. A crush seal is about the only part you'll need. If your pinion seal is wet, you may wanna change that at the same time.

Go to Rearend specialties in Santa clara, they'll do it for $200 and you have a warranty against the install! Unless you want to save $50 and not have the piece of mind that pros did it

Oh yeah, I've been there a few times. This time my car does not run and the guy doing the job is going to do a few other things as well. So this way it should work out better for me. Peace
