Originally posted by Big Kahuna: [QB] Installed mac o/r h and pro-dumps i think i may have a leak, or maybe the sound is just really bad. The sound it makes is kind of a raspiness...but not like a raspy exhaust, more like an old car with rusty pipes to explain it best, or maybe even a big rig at idle. The sound only pops out under load(moving from a stop, and shifting) and lasts all the way until the 2k mark. I got the crossover pipe welded up to try and fix it, it seems like it may have helped a bit, but its still there. Anyone know what im talking about? Thanks. [/QB]
well just got under the car and figured that the noise is commin out of tailpipes. im guessing the mufflers with turndowns and o/r h-pipe is just too loud and making that musclecarish raspiness. Will converting over to tailpipes and keeping the same mufflers work? Need input.

Why do you have tailpipes on a car with dumps? Just take 'em out
