Will it pass smog has anyone ever tired wounder if it will work on my 89 5.0 bought a car with straight pipe they did the x pip short won't connect with my cat back because its short

Muffler is not part of the smog equipment so it doesn't matter if you have one or not.

Some techs will require you to have tail pipes to insert the sniffer. I had turndowns once and got turned away because he didn't want to crawl under the car
