92 LX with a T5: Driving home from work today I was in 4th and went to shift into 5th and the shifter was stuck. I wasn't racing or shifting hard. I tried to push hard on the shifter to break it lose, no luck. I still have clutch pedal so I am assuming it isnt clutch or throwout bearing. My question is, what do you think the problem is? I have a feeling it is something internally in the trans but I would like some input before I pull it and possibly waste that labor. [ September 16, 2011, 06:01 PM: Message edited by: Blue92 ]

I had a problem like this before trying to remember what it was. Think it was the fork bent to shit thought it was the clutch and it was fine. Hopefully it's not your tranny.

The only time I've had this problem is when my clutch cable started to fray, so it couldn't pull the shifter fork far enough to go in and out of gear. Fortunately I was able to shift without using the clutch pedal by rpm matching the shifts and made it home.

I still have pedal. I had to make 3 complete stops while holding the clutch in and burning my clutch a bit to get going. Got home though.

Your medical weed dose is high. Sorry, no way would I go to a TKO. No point. I did pull the trans and I am going to get it fixed but Brian aka essasin has a spare he is going to lend me until it is repaired.

Got the trans cover off this morning, turns out I broke a $0.50 part. 3/4 synchro key snapped and held the synchro from moving. Glad it is an easy fix but sucks.
