Edelbrock RPM (1500-5500) ....or rpm 2 (2000-6500) for major top end

Is the block in that 86 the origonal block from 86? or is it a 87-93 block? Cause the 86 blocks suck. They dont have forged internals and the heads/pistons are garbage. Meaning you cant change the heads without changing pistons etc. If your block is from 86 id buy a 87-93 block as its just better. Then get yourself the tricflow h/c/i combo.
just my opinion tho. [ June 19, 2010, 02:28 AM: Message edited by: 85notch5.0 ]

There is no way to determine the best intake for any application solely on what you have given. Many intakes on the market serve many different purposes and perform in different ways.
Is your power band going to be in low or high rpm? Forced induction or N/A? Stock or upgraded valvetrain? Cubic inches? What type of heads and cam? Gear ratio? Automatic, 6 or 5 speed?
All this will play a factor in deciding the runner length and amount of air you want the intake to flow. You don't want to buy an intake that works from 1500-5500 rpm and have a cam designed for the 2500-6500 rpm with 165cc heads. Parts won't work together. So give a COMPLETE listing of your setup and then you will get some informed feedback
