Topic: (FOX) Why wont the hatch stay shut?

When i close it it does shut but when i move the hatch to the left it will open without putting the key in it both of my foxes do the same exact thing and some of my buddies aswell. is the rubber insert on the latch have to do with anything? thanks edd

yup just replace it the whole thing brand new from 50 resto was 30 bucks or you can wrap some electrical tape around it a bunch of times for a temp. fix

thats just in case you lock your keys in the car my buddy did that at sac raceway and some dude comes over and did that to the hatch and my buddy was like what the hell

check the striker. It tends to get loose and wen that happens your hatch'll close but moving it left or right opens it up. Try making sure the latch is lined up with the striker. u can loosen the striker an pull it up so it catches with the latch.
