Hey everyone, I was thinking of putting a flamethrower kit on my Cobra R Side-Exhaust but I don't know where to get high quality ones that are easy to install and won't break after using it a few times. And how much do they cost? Oh and what does a flamethrower kit consist of and how do they work? My goal is to have the blue flames shooting out of my sides, lol because that would be bad ass. Thanks for the help

I built one many cars back out of a small propane tank- like a camping stove size, and I had a hand opener on the tank, drilled a injection bung after the cat, and then I drilled another hole about 3 feet from the tailpipe for the ignitor. (i used a click button starter off of a barbeque) Thats the do it yourself way...

Oh- you can also use a spark plug with a wide gap for the ignitor.

If you want a complete kit, www.gotflames.com has them. thats where I got mine. you can build your own, for much cheaper tho. all you need is 2 coils, 2 spark plugs, a bypass relay switch, and some wire. oh yeah, and no cats.

Why no cats? Is there a kit that will work with cats? [ January 23, 2005, 09:22 PM: Message edited by: I Fear No Five O ]

The reason it shoots flames out of the exhaust is because when you hit the switch and stab the throttle, it robs spark from the plugs, and raw fuel is able to exit the combustion chamber, and is ignited by the plug in the tail pipe. If you have cats, most of the raw fuel will get burnt in the cats. But you'll clog the cats in no time fast by doing that. So, if you want flames, you can't have cats.
