My car is in the shop right now and my mechanic said the lower shifter boot( w/ metal ring) cannot fit over the shifter (pro 5.0). Is there another lower boot that fits over it or would I have to leave it off?
NOTE: IF IT MAKES ANY DIFFERENCE MY CAR USED TO BE AN AUTO
Thanks, G.C.

Should I tell him to cut the tranny tunnel open a bit more? Is the T-5 tranny tunnel a diiferent size than the auto tranny tunnel. What should I tell him?

Usually the lower boot is hard to get on right, especially with an aftermarket shifter. I couldn't get mine to fit completely right and only had it in place with 2 or 3 bolts I think. It also tore the rubber part a little..
My suggestion is just try and make it fit, or look for another boot

I did a 5 speed conversion, and to get the lower boot on, you have to open up the shifter hole a bit, which can be difficult. But either way you'll have to play with it because the boots dont fit very well on aftermarket shifters

That's happened to me on a couple cars....but not a conversion though.
On almost all i just slit the boot to fit just enough and also ended up having the boot only held in w/ 3 bolts
