How do you know when the timing is off. WHat symptoms!!!And what r ways to correst it if it is. Thanks guys.

Too far advanced can result in pinging and detonation. Too far retarded can result in a lean mixure, lack of power/throttle response and back firing through the exhaust.

Too far retarded ..i think thats me...i get a lot of backfiring..what do u mean by lean mixure...How do i correct this..

what year car are you talking about
if its a 4.6 motor
their is no way your timing is off couse
the only way to set timing is with the computer or if you added a timing adjuster to your car
you might have a bad sensor, or maybe the injectors,fuel filter are pluged and couseing it to run lean and back fire,
