My friends car won't go into gear. When it's off you can flip through the gears but when the car is on it won't go into any gears.

Clutch cable or maybe the clutch is out?

If you have a stock clutch quadrant then you have to jack up the car disconnect the clutch cable from the clutch fork have a buddy go in the car push the clutch pedal all the way down and bring it all the way up all wile holding the clutch pedal you should hear like two clicks once you hear the clicks cone t the cable back to the fork and that's how you adjust the stock quadrant
