Need some help please.

I have a 2000 GT with a stock rear end.

This is an 8.8 rear for sale:
http://sacramento.craigslist.org/pts/3902881972.html

Will it be long enough or will I need spacers etc.

Is it worth $300 to buy it or just upgrade mine? Owner said this:
"I did not build the car I purchased it this way I was told the rear end had been "built" to handle the motor that was in it just from outside appearance of the axle I can see that it has had longer wheel studs installed and what ever trac lock or locker is in it works very well I drove the car around for a couple days prior to removing parts as far as fit in a 99 04 should work"

Any advice would be great. Thanks!

That rear end will be narrower than the one you have now. Whats your goals? Seems to me that rear has gears and longer studs and that's it.

I asked if it had a limited slip and he wasnt sure. I want a nice rear with 3.73s but I don't need something "built" per say. I'd like a nice limited slip, gears, I don't need studs or 31 spline unless it makes sense to get it for a DD.

I would just go get gears installed and have your diff looked at to see if it's still good or if it's worn out just have it rebuilt.

Well I only spin one tire, so I'd like a limited slip/posi unit right?

Our cars come with a stock trac loc... Just get your clutch pacs in your rear end replaced with carbon fiber ones, and you will for sure get those rear tires to spin!
