So I hear a knocking noice coming from the engine at cold start ups. It only last about 2 seconds any ideas? At first I thought it was a lifter now I'm not so sure.

Next time you start it up, look at your oil pressure gauge when you're starting it. Sounds like oil takes its time to get circulated. My 5.0L F150 does that when the oil filter needs to be changed....or used to until I swapped engines. Not sure if it gets clogged, gummed up or what.

I hear brand new vehicles do it all the time, it just take a second before the oil reaches the top end.
