So i have 1.7 RR on my engine, 91 5.0, and needed to remove the baffle out of the stock valve covers to get them to work. Problem is that oil is now getting sucked up into the TB and intake. My question(s): Is there any other way for me to use the stock valve covers with out the oil getting sucked up into the TB, or would I need a set of tall valve covers with the baffle and fashion up a way for breather connection.

if you dont want to change the pcv valve system into a breather system, or get baffeled grommets, or weld in your own baffel...then yes you need to get taller valve covers with baffles

I was thinking about taking the easy way and get taller valve covers, do you have a suggestion for the tube that comes out of the breather/oil filler neck to the TB?

If you do go with taller valve covers, they may hit your upper intake. i think it depends on which intake you're using. You may need to get a plenum spacer to raise your intake to clear the valve covers. Then your intake may hit the hood!! It never ends!!
Or you might get lucky and the intake will clear it. [ July 03, 2012, 06:22 PM: Message edited by: Marks93 ]

i was told you cant run 1.7's at all with a stock VC. only 1.6's without the baffle. but correct me if im wrong..
id just get some tall VC's, baffled with a breather and call it a day.
summit sells some nice polished alumuinum tall valve covers for $60. i have them and i love them

people have also used thicker valve cover gaskets (or double them up) to gain more clearence.

Yeah I had to actually cut out the part where baffle screws to the valve cover.
