Has anyone ever run a manual rack and pinion with the stock rag joint steering shaft? Is it necessary to switch to the u-joint type steering shaft?

it's necessary to switch, the end is completely different.

Duely noted. I thought that because there are the 2 bolts on either side of the rag joint that it wouldn't be that big of a deal.
