going to do a oil change on my fox this week and was wondering what are the pro n cons of the two types of oil. my motor is stock but if switching over to synthetic will help my engine last longer then it may be worth it..

If you do go synthetic wich I suggest you do, don't think that it's an excuse to not change your oil as often as you should most I would go 4,000 on synthetic. And for some that's to long

Amsoil and royal purple are the best but about $8/qt

The best deal for decent fullsythetic is the walmart 5 qt jug of mobil 1

Its about $25

I use mobil and you'll see youf oil still gold at 3k

You will have virtually no engine wear and will free up some hp

To me its a no brainer......the only con is cost....but that's negated by the longer intervals and less wear

Synthetic oil is more consistent , and come with a "better" additives package. I also use mobile 1 all the time . When its dirty , I change it, its normally more soon then 4000 miles though. When I can't see the lines etched on the dipstick through the oils color or transparency",,,,then its high time for a change. Short trips , extensive times at idle, and hot rodding around, all wear out that oil quickly..
Never overfill your engine oil !

Mobil 1 ftw!!! I ve seen what Royal purple does to your motor never using the crap again. Mobil 1 walmart or costco best deals.
