Topic: need help, transmissions out and i want to upgrade

i posted this not to long ago but dont know wat happened to the post..lol o well..
89 foxbody 5.0, manual trans.
my transmission went out and i want to upgrade to something better..
someone suggested putting better gears but cant remember the name of the company. I beleive there heavy duty gears.
or
what transmissions(TKO/T-45??)i can change to w/ min mods...

astro performance has some gears that will hold 500hp in a t5 i would stay away from dog ear gears on the street too hard to shift in cali traffic

i also am running a tremec all that is needed is a aod crossmember, yoke and a bellhousing if you can find an used srod bell the tremec bolt up to them also (tremec 3550, tko 500/600) as far as i kno t45 wont fit...you can also run a t56 out of a camaro too but you need a few more modd

are the tremec just more heavy duty so they can handle more HP? i mean is that the only benifit or ??

there are a couple options...D&D and astro are my 2 picks
D&D makes a "super alloy" gearset but its pricey....but its STRONG !!

and astro sells a reman T5 for $950-ish rated for 400 hp
to go to the next level is a few bucks, a tko 500 is about 2 grand and tko 600 is 2300-ish
my current car has had bad luck that cannot be described in the T5 dept, but some of my other cars were flawless and i drive them hard.
mid 12's, launch on spray, no lift shifts
they all handled it fine.....this car seems finnickey though
