So I'm going to be running tfs tw heads and track heat upper and lower intake along with 30# injectors, 75mm tb, etc.... was going to go with the n41 cam, but then saw the tfs stage 2 cam has a bigger lift. So i really need some input and opinions on what cam is going to run well with this set up. Funds arent restricted. Thanks for any and all replies

i know a lil bit, but i will answer best as i can
seem like alot of pushrod too me, i have the stage 1 cam and i use 6.250 so u might need a smaller pushrod and might need to check piston to valve clearance aswell
1.6 scorpion RR is what i would get, thats what i use
i have at least 1k in valvetrain alone
yes stock bottom end will hold up....that cam is far better than the tfs2 and n41 [ August 30, 2011, 04:09 AM: Message edited by: 5LTR SVT ]

Bigger lift usually means power.. Longer Duration usually means more power as well. So it's true that bigger = better. But you can only go so big before you run into problems such as PTV issues. If you're running a 1.6rr with the n41, you will be perfectly fine. Id go with what you were originally planning on going with.

so the n41 would be a better choice over the tfs stage 2?

Call hitech motorsports. Tell Brian what you have and he can whip you up a few different options. My custom cam was 319 shipped to the door and ran better than 3 other cams I tried

Hitech cams are bad motherfuckers.
You wont know pushrod length until you check it.
Every motor is different.
Valvetrain geometry is very important.

Bigger is not always better, in fact it is usually worse. MATCH YOUR CAM and do not guess. Speak to seveal Grinders and get all of your information together BEFORE calling them. Have intake and head flow data together when you call. Have a game plan as to the purpose of the engine this cam is going into. And yes, call. Do not rely on email.

Rule of thumb I've found helpful with PTV clearance: don't ask others opinions measure for your self with a check spring. And for the cost of a tfs stage 2 plus a hundred more you can go custom and be happy with what you get. Do it once do it right. Just my opinion tho

to the op are you using stock pistons? if so you will be limited. also watch out if you are talking about using 1.7 rockers that will increase lift.

I thought you said funds aren't restricted? You spent your money on an xbox or what?
BTW.. You will NEVER get a straight answer on what cam to buy. 93% of people will tell you custom grind, 2% of people will tell you B-Cam & 1.7s, and the other five people will say keep the stock cam.
Straight up, I guarantee you won't buy a custom cam, because no one is that patient, but you'll pre-order COD 3 weeks in advance. You WILL buy the cheapest biggest cam you can find on Summit because you have a 20 dollar off your next 100 dollar purchase coupon, and you won't get a tune and deal with a poorly driving car that bucks reeeeeaaaaal hard until your pinned. Unless you buy a bcam and 1.7's.. Like me, cuzz daaass da joint right there.
