wats the normal intake air temp with 12-14lbs on a vortech v-1 T trim with no intercooler raced my buddys mustang and saw 194 iat is that bad but no pingin or detination but threw a lil smoke in 3rd gear checked my head gaskets did a leak down test everything came out good just worried that my iat's are outta control

what kind of car is this for? the way i test an IAT is to ohm it at room temperature resistance (u need IAT resistance specs in order to do this). an IAT is a thermistor (temp variable resistor) so resistance in the sensor will decrease as the temp increases.

also if u can view live data, u can compare the scan tool reading to the reading on an infrared thermometer. this is a more typical test with ECT sensors but i imagine it can work with an IAT, so long as u can point the thermometer at an accurate area that the sensor will pick up. NOTE: for obvious reasons, an IAT should read hotter with the hood down, unless the engine is equipped with a fenderwell setup or something.

got the anderson power pipe thats located in the fenerwell was wondering if i need 2 upgrade 2 a intercooler/aftercooler or get a meth injection kit or just save upp for both

i also got the anderson pms system so i can look @ everything well under wot on the streets doin most my pulls in 3rd tho

I don't think you need meth or intercooler with a T-trim with such low boost but your air temps do seem kinda high. I have ran S-trims with 15lbs of boost and never checked the air temps for years and never had a problem, but i always ran straight race gas. I would suspect to see air temps at 194 with a OK turbo system with a low budget intercooler and work just fine. I wouldnt worry about it and don't forget to run race gas. I think a meth kit and an air to water intercooler is too much to deal with between runs. But if you do decide to put an air to air intercooler on it, you will need to crank up the boost or get a bigger blower to make up for lost of power with all the extra plumbing. This is the air to air intercooler I will using with my turbo kit and I should have air temps around 100 to 150.

last night after doin a couple pulls on mission blvd saw 14 psi @ max rpm and iat's were around 170-180 on each pull right now i'm @ 22 degres total timin u think thats tomuch with those high iat's and i'm runnin 91 oactane all day

Yes, I think 22 degrees of timing is too high with 91 octane, I do 24-26 degrees of total timing with 117 octane. Bring it down to 15-18 degrees with 91 or put race gas.

if i put the mr freeze meth kit you think i could stay @ 22 degrees with 91 oactane becus i just order it from anderson only was $203 with shipping dont really drive the car much so its not a daily driver

Mr.Freeze kit works but doesn't drop it down that low, there are better kits out there, why don't you like race gas?

I am not a fan of using 91 octane with a race car, I don't see the point.

I live in Concord, I get my gas in Vacaville, San Jose or Hayward and that's more than 20 miles away, if I want C16 for my turbo car. But if I want 100 or 110 octane for my blower car, I can get it locally at Monument Car Parts or Morgans. Where do you live?

ERC racing fuels is right here in hayward on lewelling they sell race gas and other octanes also right in the hood

For blower cars I gap the plugs to .032 and turbo cars to .028
