I need to replace my oil pan gasket and maybe rear main seal out of my 91 mustang 5.0

I have a slow leak and gasket wasn't put on right so it drips slowly enough to drain 2 qts in 2 weeks

so Im wondering how much am I looking to spend or pay a mechanic to do the job for me

any inputs will be great so I can get an idea of what to spend to get it done...thanks

Well if you are going to do the oil pan and rear main seal, might as well replace the clutch also, if the rear main seal is leaking that bad, it will soak the clutch of oil. Also use a Ford OEM oil pan gasket, its a nice rubber one.

really? damn I hope and dont think the rear seal needs to be replaced, I just had it replaced along with a new clutch less than 3k miles... but or the oil pan gasket I was thinking of the ford racing 1 piece gasket

thanks for the input but does anybody know of prices of work like this. How much am I looking to pay? just so I wont get ripped off

It's a lot of work to pull the pan. If you have to replace the rear main seal as well, then the tranny and flywheel need to come off. You're probably looking at 3-4 hours minimum for a shop with a lift to do it.
