was wondering what everyone replaces the mach 460 systems with looking for suggestions

which 460??
There are some adapters for the mach460 but they can be hard to find. Better way to upgrade is to do a whole new install and bypass the factory harness.

not sure which 460 system didnt know there where different ones just got the car 2 weeks ago the only speakers that work are the rear cd player only spits cds out head units easy . so to replace the other speakers you have to run a different harness?

i have about 500 for the speakers deck probably just get the best alpine single din thants what i usually put in my cars

some of the 460s had amps, you cant miss it because it takes up the trunk. (I forget everythign that was in my '03 cobra) but in general the stock amp does not work with aftermarket radios. You will need to find an adapter harness for to get it to work, that's why many people just do a complete install.

My suggestion is the same: by pass the factory wire harness. Replace the rear speakers with something better than the 460s, then install component speakers in the doors. If you go this route your budget will need a lil more.

There was a bunch of threads on SVTPerformance about hos junky the factory speakers are when you swap out just the headset. Do a search there as well.

probably just got with boston acc comps speakers gotta hit up crutchfield then i guess

I forgot to add... you dont need to spend a bunch on the rear speakers; the rear is mainly for fill. Spend the $$$ on the front channel.
I'm using MB Quart refernce series speakers.

On both of my cars the rear speakers are lightning 5x8 3 ways. Just make sure they can handle the wattage you plan to use, and use RMS wattage. It's a more realistic value compared to what most everyone uses on packages; peak wattage.

I prefer infinity kappa or alpine type r. I used to install for 3 years and those seem to out last the cars and when amped They prove to be excellent sounding and dont distort.
